One of the ways we support mission outside of Northern Lakes is by supporting gospel work in other countries. At Northern Lakes we support Martin and Julie Field and their family who are working with university students in Cordoba, Argentina. Members of Northern Lakes support the Fields financially, by praying, and by letters and emails.
Background
Martin and Julie have four children, Lachlan, Ellouise, Charlotte, and Jacob. Martin and Julie had previously been involved in sharing Jesus with university students at Sydney University, Cumberland College Campus. They became interested in continuing this but doing it in a country with far fewer university workers than Australia.
Martin and Julie completed a year of training with CMS (Church Missionary Society) in 2006, and arrived in Argentina in December 2007 for their first three year term. They spent their first year in Argentina living in the capital city, Buenos Aires learning language and becoming familiar with the culture. They became involved in a local church and the children attended local schools and preschools.
Early in 2009 the family moved to Cordoba where they have adjusted to new surroundings, a new church and new schools for the children. During 2009, Martin and Julie have been involved in meeting with students to read the Bible, working with ABUA, the association overseeing student work in Argentina and forming small Bible study groups with students from different faculties on campus.
