If you are new to Northern Lakes Evangelical Church, then welcome! We are so grateful to God for all He is graciously doing amongst us and we’d love others to join us.
We are a bunch of reasonably ordinary people who share the most significant experience imaginable: God has forgiven us of our wrong doings on the basis of Jesus’ death on the cross, in our place, two thousand years ago.
We are a Bible teaching church who at its heart is about knowing Jesus and sharing the fantastic news about him to others.
What to expect
Going to any place that is new can sometimes be a little daunting. We try and make Northern Lakes Evangelical Church as welcoming as we can to everyone, whatever your background. We’re a pretty laid back bunch, so Church is relaxed and informal, whilst still being structured enough to help us to focus on the majesty of Jesus. If you’re coming for the first time, here’s what to expect.
You should be welcomed by someone at the front door, hopefully they’ll be able to answer any questions you might have about Church. You’ll notice that everyone is dressed pretty comfortably, in anything from t-shirts and shorts to semi-formal.
During church we sing (feel free to join in or just listen along); pray (a leader from the front); read the Bible and have it explained. Our Pastors do their best during the talk to unpack the spectacular relevance of all that God has done in an understandable and real way.
In our morning church there is a brief break, where the children and youth go out to their various programs called Kid’s Church (Kindy – Year 5) and Youth Church (Year 6 – year 9). Each class enjoys a mixture of games, singing, craft and Bible teaching that are age appropriate. We are blessed with many children, we have several different groups with a high ratio of trained teachers overseeing and caring for the children in their classes. All children need to be signed in and out to ensure their safety and your peace of mind. Directions will be given so you will know where to take your kids. We have had parents come back to Northern Lakes because their kids loved Kid’s Church so much.
At the end of our Church we stay around to have morning tea, including real coffee.
